Optometrist

This is an opportunity to join and help build the future of a three-generation, private optometry practice that has been in continual operation for 80 years. We are a bedrock in the community and serve more than 10,000 patients in the greater Baltimore-Annapolis area. We pride ourselves on exceptional, personal patient care, and as a result many of our patients are now the 2nd and 3rd generations to see us exclusively. That sense of community is a core part of our company culture. We have a dynamic, thriving office environment where we work hard to make sure everyone shines.

In response to our growing patient base, we are in the process of dramatically expanding our practice. Many exciting things are happening, including building out new medical suites with top-of-the-line exam equipment, building a new conference room, and adding to our already large frame selection area. We are looking for a new full time OD to join our practice.

Essential functions:

• Primary care and emergency medical-based optometry

• Diabetic and glaucoma exams

• Pre- and post-op surgical care

• Fitting and prescribing contact lenses

• Pathology

• Co-manage cases with our vision therapist and our cadre of vision specialists (retinal surgeons, glaucoma specialists, LASIK surgeons, etc)

Equipment we use:

• All medical exam suites have digital refracting systems

• Zeiss OCT with Angio

• Corneal Topographer

• Optos Daytona

• Humphry Visual Field Analyzer

Benefits package: We offer a competitive, full-time benefits package worth up to $162,000. This includes a CE allowance, a membership to the Maryland Optometric Association, malpractice insurance reimbursement, licensing fee, medical and dental insurance, 401k, paid vacation, paid holidays, annual staff trip to New York City for Vision Expo East, a salary range of $109,000 - $135,000 and the opportunity to earn an annual bonus of up to $25,000.

Qualifications:

• License in good standing in the State of Maryland

• National Provider Identification (NPI) required

• Experience with OfficeMate and Examwriter a plus

• Accredited residency in Optometry preferred

• Ability to work one or more Saturdays a month

• Ability to work some early evenings

Optician
The Woolf & Woolf Optical Department seeks a charismatic, affable sales associate to join our team. If you’re passionate about great customer service and want to help build our patients’ confidence by both helping them to see and look better, this is a fantastic job for you.

In this role, you’ll support the work of our doctors by working directly with patients to select frames and lenses that will work best with their prescriptions. You’ll fit them with contact lenses and instruct them on proper care and use. And you’ll focus on selling the features and benefits of our products and services. We prefer American Board of Opticianry certification, however we will also offer training to qualified staff so that they can attain an ABO credential within the first year on our staff. HS diploma or GED required for consideration.

Patient Care Representative
Woolf & Woolf is seeking an energetic, outgoing, responsible patient care representative to help lead our Optometry practice. Ours is a fast-paced office with exciting opportunities and challenges. In this role, you will be communicating directly with our vast and diverse patient base to schedule appointments, check in/ out patients during office visits and verify insurance information/ answer insurance-related questions. Ideal candidates must be extremely personable and friendly and offer exceptional interpersonal skills. They should be patient and willing to take time to explain our policies and procedures to patients who need additional help.

Requirements:

• HS diploma and at least two years working either as a receptionist or a patient care representative in an optometry or other medical office.
• Strong computer skills and ability to work with new technology when we upgrade to new systems.
• Experience with OfficeMate strongly preferred.
• We prefer candidates who live in within 10 miles of our office in Pasadena and who have access to their own transportation.
